Here is what our clients says about us.

“Environmental protection in the Rough Forest makes sense and joy”

Get away from the hustle and bustle of Moshi, in the silence of the Rau Forest: The sounds of the forest – monkeys, birds and much more – accompanied by the interesting remarks of my guide Daniel. With every word I notice his enthusiasm for the plants and the animals, for the protection of the forest and for the eco-social tourism. As a bonus two highlights: the food at Mama Mtalo and the visit of the “Tree Nursery” where I under – plant a tree “One Trip One Tree”. And go away with the certainty of having learned a lot about this unique forest and have made an important contribution to climate change.

”Nature in the forest convialité Rau guides with quality”

By organizing our trip with Stephanie TANZANIA of agenceTUMBILI, we wanted to responsible tourism, that we did end June 2017. Arriving at RAU ECO-TOURISM BUSINESS Thomas with our guide, we were greeted by Linus and are gone hiking in the forest where we could observe primates, birds, etc …, collect seeds for planting later. This hike took us to the rice fields where we could see the work of Tanzania (rice planting), drinking coconut juice, all with enthusiastic guides. On our return, local lunch when Daniel joined us … The afternoon continued in a great atmosphere with planting seeds and have also planted our tree each. Thank you very much to Linus, Daniel and Thomas for this great day away from the tourist places. Congratulations for all you do and continue to share your passion. Do not miss if you want to know the heart of TANZANIA. Chantal and Christian

Nature walk

With the presence of the Tour guide by the name Linus. The tour was amazing in Rau reserved forest. The nature was good with, experienced different kinds of baboons, birds, and the tree that has more than 200 years. Without forgetting the rice plantation around the Forest by the local community. The area is so good with the good green environment

“Nature and gastronomy”

We (my wife and my 11 year old daughter) came to Moshi in July 2017 during our stay in Tanzania organized by Tumbili. Daniel, our guide for the day, was keen to share his concern to preserve the rainforest Rau with which he grew up. The first day was devoted to a discovery of local species and colobus monkeys that inhabit the treetops; our steps led us to a beautiful paddy field where we enjoyed the coconut juice and sugar cane pieces. The day ended with the harvest and planting tree seeds that we hope will benefit future generations. The next day we were greeted warmly at the local market to buy the ingredients for our lesson Swahili cuisine. Everyone had a hand in the dough for this delicious moment of good humor and sharing.

Memorable experience and great customer service.

After my visit of Rau Eco and Cultural Tourism, I felt that I had made a positive contribution to the surrounding community by participating in eco initiatives such as tree planting and collecting waste. Rau is a unique experience for the eco focused tourist looking to give something back.

The hospitality from Linus, Daniel and Hamis ensured that my homestay and experience was an enjoyable one that created lasting memories.

Not to mention Mama’s amazing local lunch and the unparalleled banana beer, a must-try.

Wonderful people, wonderful tour

My wife and I did a walking tour with Rau. Our guides were kind, knowledgeable, and quite humorous. We couldn’t help but be caught up in their enthusiasm for the plant and animal life in the forest. All in all, it stood out alongside our safari as one of our favorite experiences in Tanzania. Rau is an absolute gem, and we highly recommend them!

Aperfect day to spend the day

It was a pleasure to enjoy some quiet time in nature & learn about the Rau forest and its catchment area. The team is so friendly and passionate about ecology. I recommend this tour and will definitely consider doing something else with the team before I leave

We were looking for a walk in the foothills of Kilimajaro and found this small guiding company set up by an enthusiastic group of Tanzanian young people who want to guide AND safeguard the environment. The 3hour walk takes one through a gorgeous majestic forest which opens out on to a picturesque field if rice paddies. I highly recommend doing one of their tours

A hiden gem with really knowledgeable and passionate guide

Don’t miss out on Rau Forest during your stay in Moshi! Not only is the forest itself absolutely beautiful, but the guides at Rau Eco CTE will make sure you have a wonderful trip. I love the fact that Daniel, Linus and Hamis are all really passionate about the forest and it’s conservation – it isn’t just a job for them but they really want to see it protected and preserved for the future.

Their wealth of knowledge is massive and they are the best naturalist guides I have had in my 3 years of living and travelling around Tanzania! I have worked with conservation education initiatives in nearby schools and these guys have volunteered their time and seedlings from their nursery to help out – they are just all round lovely, genuine people and a pleasure to spend time with.

My most recent visit I took my Dad who is very into botany and he was very impressed by Daniel’s knowledge of all the plant species, including insights into their traditional medicinal uses. I think we saw about 6 different groups of the Black and White Colobus monkeys, very close (better sightings than I have had inside Kilimanjaro National Park). For something not on the tourist trail, definitely don’t miss out on a trip to Rau Forest – it’s just 10 minutes from Moshi town and a wonderful nature haven.
